San Giovanni's Park lies on a slope and covers an area of more than 22 hectares. It has two entrances, upperside and downside, respectively. The flower show Horti Tergestini is near the upperside entrance.
For visitors coming from Venice (A4 motorway), there are three possibilities:

1) Continue on the motorway and leave it at SISTIANA junction. Drive down to the Costiera (a seaside road), reaching Viale Miramare, then drive on through Corso Cavour, Via Milano, Via del Coroneo, Via Fabio Severo, Via Valerio. Enter the park by turning on right just past the terminal pitch of bus line 17.

2) Continue on the motorway and leave it at PROSECCO junction, turn on right towards OPICINA. Drive for around 3 km. Once reached the roundabout, take the first right turn towards TRIESTE CENTRO (see Map 1). The entrance gate is on the left. Warning: in front of this entrance there is a double continuous centre dividing line, so it is necessary to ride on for about 500 metres until the fuel pump station, where it is possible to make a U-turn (see Map 2).

3) For visitors coming from Miramare, the park can be reached from the downside entrance by crossing the city centre. After leaving viale Miramare, ride down the Rive (seaside road), turn at the second fork on the left (the first fork takes to Via Milano) to Corso Italia, then take once again the second turn on the left. At the traffic light, turn right to reach and cross Via Carducci. Go through Via Battisti that after the traffic light changes is name in Via Giulia: at the roundabout go ahead for about a kilometre, then turn left onto Via Donatello, a narrow and short street ending at the park gate.
